Portrait or Personal Image - Matthew M Yeoman

Photography to me is an unspoken voice of emotion - honest moments preserved by the filter of words and movement. Through my images I seek to capture people and nature in their truest form.

In each captured candid moment, I have the opportunity to arrest motion – to hold it fixed in time so that years from now when we reflect on what was, we can experience it again. This is what moves me. The power of a picture to tell a story… In addition to the portrait, night, and landscape photography which I also love to capture, I’m driven to contribute my passion to non-profit organizations… to inspire people to care about the planet and raise awareness of important social issues.

After my father passed away in 1988, I started experimenting with his Mamiya 35mm, and I set off to explore with this camera and my yet to be discovered gift of perception. My quest in the world of photography continued during a tour of Europe in 1997. My travels have taken me to England, Scotland, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and many locations in North America. I am a self-taught photographer and a work in progress and am always looking to grow, evolve, and perfect my personal technique.

My photography background includes work as a volunteer photographer for the Indiana Heart Gallery and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. My experience also includes the contribution of photography expertise and services to Tribune Broadcasting for a promotional on-air and off-channel marketing campaign. My work has taken me to Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where I captured photographs of a former Miami news anchor for a half-million OOH media buy. Whether I am providing my services to businesses, non-profits, or individuals, I work hard to cultivate a creative environment conducive to capturing honest moments.

“Your photography is a record of your living, for anyone who really sees.” --Paul Strand
